Our Approach

People have been collaborating and building coalitions for ages. Maine Network Partners is interested in helping organizations and individuals develop the skills to work effectively together to accomplish shared goals. We call this approach or strategy “Networks for Social Change.”

Here are the qualities we believe it takes to work effectively together:

Shared Responsibility: focus on the common vision, not the individual organizations within the network

Trust: confidence that individual organizations can be relied upon to do what they say they’ll do and have the networks’ best interest in mind

Enthusiasm: dedication and interest is evident from all—people want to be “at the table”

No single organization can solve large social problems. But, by using a network approach, organizations with common visions for these social problems can come together to share their skills and ideas and work to develop solutions. The whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
